Reason for priority: Uncontrolled speeding
during these hours on these streets.
#1. NH NCPC requests that the OPD Traffic
Division continue to place a traffic speed
monitor trailer, on Mountain Blvd. (North of Thornhill to
Duncan), and/or on Duncan
(from the intersection of Mountain Boulevard to Broadway
Terrace) during the weekday
hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (northbound traffic) and 3:30 p.m.
to 6 p.m. (northbound
traffic) during the month of June 2008. Coordinate with
CEDA Transportation Services
Division (Joe Wang) to transfer data from trailer to TSD.
#2. NH NCPC requests that the OPD Traffic
Division place a traffic officer, for the
purpose of ticketing for speeding, on Hiller Drive during
the weekday hours of 8 a.m.
to 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at least twice a week
during the month of June 2008.
Reason for priority: Uncontrolled speeding during these
hours on these streets.
CEDA TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DIVISION
PRIORITIES:
#1. NH NCPC requests that the CEDA
Transportation Services Division evaluate possible
traffic
calming possibilities for the following streets during
the month of June, 2008:
Mountain Boulevard (north of Thornhill Drive to
Florence Terrace)
Mountain Boulevard (north of Florence Terrace to
Pinewood)
Florence Terrace (between Mountain Boulevard and Duncan
Way)
Duncan Way (between Florence Terrace and Broadway
Terrace)
Reason for priority: Uncontrolled
speeding during data-collection hours on these streets.
#2. NH NCPC requests that the CEDA
Transportation Services Division re-install delineators
the corner of Alhambra Way and Thornhill Drive during
the month of June, 2008.
Reason for priority: Uncontrolled
parking on Thornhill Drive at Alhambra Way.
# 3 NH NCPC requests CEDA Transportation
Services Division evaluate the Gateway Emergency
Preparedness Exhibit Center area to determine the
appropriate configuration of no-parking
signage after park hours during the month of June,
2008.
Reason for priority: Apparently
teenagers and young adults are congregating at the
Gateway Emergency Preparedness Exhibit Center
(Hiller/Caldecott Lane/Tunnel Road). There
is evidence that indicate smoking in a dangerous fire
area, littering, and physical damage
to the facility. Further, there is suspicion that the
park is being utilized as a drop-off
/pick-up location for goods. Persons who appear not to
know each other, meet, exchange goods
are utilizing the off-road parking just above the park,
where money is exchanged. By
establishing the no-parking zones at the Park during the
non-park hours, the enforcement
configuration of the overall area is improved.
# 4 NH NCPC requests CEDA Transportation
Services Division evaluate the bottom section of
Alvarado Road for traffic control device replacement
during the month of June, 2008.
Reason for priority: Apparently there
is an increase in traffic on this road that has
damaged/removed roadway reflectors on this stretch.
This has seemingly increased the
danger for vehicular traffic. The evaluation area is
from 1227 Alvarado Road and the
six curves to east until it joins Claremont Avenue.
PARKING ENFORCEMENT PRIORITY:
#1. NH NCPC requests that the City
of Oakland Parking Enforcement the following three
areas above 24:
6900 block of Bristol Drive (residents routinely
parking on no-parking side of street)
From 6963 to 7001 Buckingham Boulevard (three homes
under construction
The 6700-6800 block of Charing Cross Road
(especially 6700 under construction)
These areas need to be patrolled at least
two times a week during the day hours, and two
times a week during the early evening hours
during the month of June, 2008.
Reason for priority: Uncontrolled
parking during these hours on these streets. This
is
due to illegal construction vehicle parking, and
also due to residents/visitors parking illegally.
